Maximum clear span for open bar steel flooring
When choosing the appropriate flooring for your application you will have to consider
the amount of traffic usage. The chart below shows the typical clear spans that will
give a deflection of less than 10mm or 1/200th of the span as defined in BS 4592 and
BS 5950 when subject to the uniformly distributed loads shown below.

Clear span is the unsupported distance between the supporting steelwork.
Allow at least 30mm support on either side.
For galvanized weights add 8%.

Luxtrade flooring is manufactured to BS 4592 Part 1 and by companies whose
Quality Assurance Systems are approved to ISO 9000.

Finishes available
Self colour
Mild steel galvanized to BS EN ISO 1461 of 1999; painted; or powder coated.
Aluminium anodised for a long lasting attractive finish.
Stainless steel mill finish for industrial applications, pickled and passivated
or electro-polished to mirror finish.
