About Luxtrade

We are specialists in secondary steelwork and associated products.

Value for money, on time delivery and customer satisfaction is at the heart of our business philosophy. Moreover we are confident we give some of the most attractive prices on the market.

Employing our own erection team, we offer installation throughout the UK and handle projects from a simple handrail through to complete power station, rail depot or airline terminal.

Our management team is drawn from the Aerospace, Precision Manufacturing and Construction sectors, resulting in a deep commitment to quality and integrity in our business dealings.

If you need anything from us, technical data, advice or other steel products, please call, we will be happy to help in any way we can.

Health & Safety

As members of the British Construction Steel Association our Health and Safety System is accredited by the Safety Scheme in Procurement (SSIP) and meets the requirements of Construction Line membership.

Our management team have completed the 4 day IOSH Managing Safely course and our site risk assessments embrace the highest standards of safety into which we incorporate any innovations we can glean from any source.

We are thus proud of our 15 year ZERO HARM site track record and 33 years continuous operations without serious accident.

Sustainability & Environment

We are mindful of our environmental impact at all times.

With no primary material manufacturing processes we look to good design methods and attention to detail to reduce material usage, eliminate unnecessary processing and logistics, and above all, waste heat. We will only source materials from responsible manufacturers with bonafide enviro credentials.

We look to extend plant and vehicle life through best practice and keep vehicle use to a minimum.

We recycle, monitor energy usage and continually work towards a paperless office.

Quality

We are ISO9001:2015 approved with Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) and are CE approved to Execution Class EXC2 through the Steel Construction Certification Scheme.

We are members of the British Construction Steel Association and Construction Line.

Registered (Reg No 165618). Customer quality audits are welcome at any time.

Warranty

We warrant our products for 2 years against defects in manufacturing and / or workmanship.

Where we undertake to carry out warranty work, we will repair or replace affected units / areas to the same standard as the other parts in situ at our discretion.

We cannot accept liability for accidental damage by others or post install wear and tear.

Delivery

We deliver throughout the UK using our own vehicle with its own fork truck where necessary. Mindful that site offloading / storage can be very restricted and time critical, our logistics people will contact site prior to delivery to determine the best delivery method in line with our environment policy.

Installation

Where we quote for installation we include for a site visit to determine Health and Safety requirements as well as plant and material access.

Where we have full design authority we will determine levels. Otherwise we will use dimensions and levels provided by client approved drawings or otherwise advised to us by an approved source.

We ask that all site H&S requirements are advised to us in advance of our starting to avoid delays.

We reserve the right to charge for abandoned or extended installation caused by failure to advise us of specific Health & Safety requirements, delaying incidents caused by others or extreme weather.

Our supervisors are SSSTS qualified and all operatives possess appropriate CSCS cards.

Our installation estimate is based on full and free access at all times and all parts being delivered in reasonable proximity to the work area.

Craneage requirements vary by site. It is not always possible to fully assess lifting requirements so we reserve the right to charge for additional craneage if required.

Our personnel are qualified slingers and banksmen but where sites require a dedicated crane supervisor this is to be provided by site or through a contract lift arrangement. Luxtrade will provide all sundry lift plans.

Where parts are to be lifted to height, we may require that a suitable loading dock be provided in advance. We do not include for scaffolding in our quotation. Should this be required then this must be provided by site.

Please note that our installation duration is an estimate and is based on completing all works in an agreed number of days or visits. If the installation period is extended due to site conditions or access limitations we reserve the right to charge additional days on a per diem basis.

If the installation is extended due to Luxtrade, we do not charge additional days. If we do not use installation equipment such as cranes for which we have order coverage, we will not invoice for these items.

However should we discover additional work during our installation that was not evident during tender or survey, we will provide a quotation and require appropriate order coverage.
